Rubber Discovery In the wild, the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) grows up to heights of 100 to 130 feet tall. It can live 100 years. It produces white, milky, sap know as latex. It flows freely when a silver bark is removed from the tree. It is native to rainforests in the Amazon region of South America.
